Maintenance Engineer II
Job Description
The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa, a landmark property in Denver, seeks a Maintenance Engineer II to keep the building performing at peak while minimizing any disruption to guests and staff. This onsite role emphasizes hands-on repair work, proactive maintenance, and meticulous documentation to support reliable operations across all systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the hotel’s air conditioning system through filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacements.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and electrical gear.
- Take and record required readings from equipment and monitor performance.
- Test the cooling tower and document the readings.
- Replace and program televisions as needed.
- Replace light switches, outlets, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Repair furniture and service related components.
- Replace and repair pumps as required.
- Handle plumbing repairs including unclogging drains, working with copper piping, replacing washers and handles, and adjusting drain fittings.
- Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Trace and repair all types of water lines.
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
- Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
- Ensure work adheres to local, state, and federal codes.
- Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
- Paint designated areas and perform drywall finishing as needed.
- Repair various wall coverings and finish sheetrock.
- Repair and program the hotel electronic lock system.
- Assist in supervising other engineering staff members and support preventive maintenance scheduling.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in a hotel or related field required.
- Two or more years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field preferred.
- Flexible with long or irregular hours as needed.
- Heavy physical work requiring occasional lifting over 100 pounds, frequent lifting over 50 pounds, and constant lifting up to 20 pounds.

Overview
The Engineering role at Level 2 is responsible for maintaining the property in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of guest and employee disruption.
Pay Rate
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
