Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer II focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems in Las Vegas on a hybrid schedule, performing complex calculations and developing detailed designs with opportunities for project ownership and mentorship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform complex calculations and design work for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems
- Heating and cooling load calculations
- Equipment selection and sizing
- Friction loss and hydraulic calculations
- Prepare preliminary redline design layouts for estimating and project development
- Manage a single phase of a project from concept through completion
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
- Review applicable codes, standards, and project criteria to ensure compliance
- Conduct field investigations and site visits to support design development
- Interpret mechanical and plumbing plans and specifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (required)
- 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection system design
- Solid understanding of system operations and engineering principles
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing drawings
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

ABOUT THE ROLE
Compensation ranges from USD 80,000 to 125,000 per year. This position supports the development of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related building systems, with responsibilities for complex calculations and detailed designs.
