Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Mechanical Engineer responsible for the mechanical maintenance and reliability engineering function at Flexsys America LP's Monongahela, PA plant, supporting maintenance, operations, HSES and capital projects.
Responsibilities
- Support operations and maintenance during ongoing plant operations, including troubleshooting, equipment repairs, and assistance during major turnarounds.
- Contribute to capital project scope and detailed engineering to ensure safe, reliable plant design, target production rates, and low life cycle costs.
- Analyze production loss and equipment failure data using statistical tools and identify projects to improve reliability.
- Lead, facilitate, or participate in root cause analyses of process upsets and equipment failures to identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate engineering, repair and construction activities for plant alterations and improvements.
- Lead problem solving teams to identify, design, and implement improvements.
- Coordinate and manage reliability project development, design, and installation.
- Maintain and improve the site's PSM mechanical integrity program.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (ABET accredited four-year program).
- 5+ years of experience in the chemical, power, or pulp and paper industry preferred.
- Strong commitment to personnel and process safety.
- Service oriented and customer focused.
- Broad hands-on knowledge with rotating equipment, piping systems, and mechanical equipment and design (pumps, blowers, compressors, relief devices, tanks, piping, etc.).
- Knowledge of materials of construction for chemical processes.
- Ability to work in a team with engineers, technicians, field maintenance forces, and contractors.
- Familiar with applicable codes including ASME, API, ANSI, etc.
- Knowledge of PSM Mechanical Integrity.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance tools for mechanical equipment.
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to advance problems toward resolution when facing ambiguity or uncertainty.
- Results oriented with willingness to put in extra effort to complete critical tasks.
- Knowledge of Lean and or Six Sigma is an advantage.
- SAP CMMS experience and AutoCAD proficiency preferred.

- Salary: USD 100,000 - 115,000 per year
