Nuclear Engineer III/IV (Reactor Design)
Job Description
Fissionaire is hiring a Nuclear Engineer III/IV to spearhead the design, analysis, and optimization of next-generation reactor systems in Madison, Wisconsin, onsite, with a salary range of USD 125,000 to 180,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Oversee core and system-level design activities, spanning thermal-hydraulic, neutronic, and mechanical disciplines.
- Conduct analysis, modeling, and optimization using established nuclear design software.
- Coordinate fuel, coolant, and structural components to form integrated designs that satisfy safety, performance, and cost objectives.
- Work with mechanical, materials, and safety engineers to ensure coherent designs and readiness for regulatory review.
- Carry out risk assessments and safety analyses to verify compliance with rigorous nuclear safety standards.
- Produce technical reports, design documents, and presentations for internal teams and regulators.
- Perform trade studies and sensitivity analyses to inform design choices.
- Engage in design reviews, safety analyses, and interactions with regulatory bodies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging reactor technologies, materials research, and simulation methods.
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure timely milestone delivery.
