Principal Electrical Engineer
Job Description
From Worley’s Reading, PA area office, this senior electrical engineering leadership role focuses on guiding the delivery of complex electrical systems and services for diverse projects. The position emphasizes technical leadership, team oversight, and a steadfast commitment to compliant, high-quality results delivered on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Initiate, manage and, when required, supervise electrical engineering project requirements.
- Attend relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
- Clarify project scope and ensure changes adhere to project change management processes.
- Provide guidance during procurement, construction and commissioning activities, including drafting requisitions, evaluating technical bids and issuing purchase orders.
- Act as the electrical engineering lead on designated projects when required.
- Define project requirements, promote appropriate workshare where applicable, assign tasks and monitor progress.
- Proactively resolve discrepancies between Worley and customer requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments and innovations in electrical engineering.
- Assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team when needed.
- Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including clients.
- Identify issues, develop solutions and seek assistance as needed.
Requirements
- Substantial experience in the electrical engineering discipline.
- Track record in a project leadership role.
- Experience estimating project costs and preparing proposals.
- Strong technical and practical engineering skills with a history of delivering accurate, high-quality work on time for Worley and its clients.
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and the basics of other engineering fields.
- Solid knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory/regulatory requirements.
- Proficient use of electrical engineering software tools.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Extensive technical and practical electrical engineering experience in a similar industry, including multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States is required.
