Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Leadership Principal Electronics Engineer to guide the ground segment integration for its FMS Mission Systems initiatives. Based in San Diego with hybrid work options, this role centers on investigating ground control software and hardware deficiencies, driving development, integration, testing, and sustainment artifacts in collaboration with a major supplier. The position combines senior technical leadership with cross-functional coordination to deliver updates to the system.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and synchronize supplier efforts across multiple software programs, guiding initiatives from conception through delivery.
  • Collaborate with subcontract management, systems engineering, supplier quality assurance representations, safety engineers, cyber team, test team, logistics engineers, cost account manager, and scheduler to align work.
  • Plan and manage all phases of software and hardware performance, including new capability development, testing, deliveries, deployment, and ongoing sustainment.
  • Review supplier software product documentation for quality and compliance.
  • Provide regular status updates on supplier progress to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience; or PhD in a STEM discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
