React Software Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions with the ability to go beyond routine approaches to solve complex problems
• Produce secure, high quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate in coordination with related systems
• Utilize enterprise authorized AI coding assist tools to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and productivity on complex deliverables, including code generation, refactoring, unit test creation, and documentation; ensure outputs are peer reviewed, tested, and aligned with secure coding standards; share learnings and reusable patterns with the team
• Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize automation value
• Develop in React and AWS, and conduct end to end testing using Playwright and related tools
• Engage hands on with AI coding assistants (for example GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to support development efforts
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure the implemented code satisfies design constraints
• Gather, analyze, and synthesize data into visualizations and reporting to support continuous software improvements
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contribute to engineering communities of practice and explore new technologies
• Demonstrate strong problem solving and debugging capabilities

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of applied experience
• Hands on experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability
• Experience building, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Proficiency with React or Angular and knowledge of REST APIs
• Experience in end to end testing and unit testing with Playwright or equivalent tools
• Experience in designing systems and component libraries, implementing consistent UI/UX
• Hands on experience using enterprise authorized AI assisted software development tools with ability to critically evaluate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe practices
• Solid knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Working understanding of agile practices including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security

Our Consumer & Community Banking division serves Chase customers through personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans, and payment processing. We lead in credit card sales and deposit growth and offer widely used digital solutions, while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
