Robotics Engineer/Tech
Job Description
Immediate openings for Robot Programmers focused on programming, controller setup, and commissioning support for robotic systems.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot end-of-arm tooling equipment for robot arm systems
- Set up and configure robot controllers
- Perform I/O configuration and BitMap setup
- Work with multiple robot manufacturer models
- Develop robot programs, verify paths, and execute testing
- Set up and verify robot zoning
- Provide commissioning support for automation testing of robotic systems
- Apply knowledge of electronics and control power
- Troubleshoot basic electrical circuits and interpret electrical schematics
- Apply basic mechanical knowledge during integration and support activities
- Complete other duties as required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- University/college degree in a related field (Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist, Mechanical Engineering/T)
- Ability to read and understand industrial electrical schematics
- Understand electrical fundamentals, troubleshoot electrical circuits, and support control power systems
- Interpret and apply line code (step logic) for robot programs
- Basic knowledge of mechanical assemblies
- Well organized with structured, professional presentation
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience or exposure with one or more robot manufacturers:
- Fanuc (priority)
- ABB
- Comau
- KUKA
- Programming experience with applications including one or more of the following:
- Spot Welding
- Riveting
- Mig Welding
- Adhesive
- Material Handling
- Vision
- 3D vision is a plus
- Capability for path development
- Capable of entering, modifying, and/or adding robot logic to TP programs
- Capable of adding files to robot controllers
- Ability to understand, set up, and configure I/O
- Capable of working individually or as part of a team
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and outside standard working hours as needed
Compensation and Location
- Location: Redford, MI (remote)
- Salary: USD 57,128 - 85,000 per year
