Job Description

Noble Machines is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to own the simulation environments and supporting infrastructure used to develop, validate, test, and transition robotic systems from simulation to real-world deployment. The role focuses on producing high-fidelity virtual environments that enable early verification of autonomy, control, and perception systems.

Role Scope

This position centers on building and iterating simulation workflows and infrastructure that support integration and validation. Work includes development of high-fidelity simulation environments, digital twins, and synthetic data pipelines to accelerate autonomy and controls development prior to hardware rollout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain simulation workflows using Isaac Sim, Omniverse, Gazebo, or Mujoco to support integration and validation.
  • Build and iterate on high-fidelity simulation environments, digital twins, and synthetic data pipelines for autonomy and controls development.
  • Partner with hardware, autonomy, and test teams to deliver systems that are ready for field deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in robotics or distributed software development.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ (C++17+) and Python.
  • Experience using simulation software such as Isaac Sim and/or Omniverse.
  • Strong understanding of ROS 2, lifecycle nodes, and DDS communication.
  • Experience building modular, distributed runtime or middleware systems.
  • Familiarity with containerized development using Docker, colcon, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience building APIs, SDKs, or developer-facing tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering teams.

  • Open-source contributions in ROS 2, robotics middleware, or developer tooling.

Compensation and Location

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (onsite)

Salary: USD 140,000 to 200,000 per year

California Pay Transparency Statement

  • Pay Transparency & Compensation In accordance with California's Pay Transparency Act (SB 1162), the expected base salary range for this position located in Sunnyvale, CA is $140,000–$200,000 per year.
  • Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, technical skills, and specialized expertise.
  • Base salary is just one component of Noble Machines' total rewards package, which may also include equity options, comprehensive healthcare benefits, retirement plan contributions, and performance-based incentives.
