Senior Advanced Software Engineer/Atlassian & DevOps Tools Expert

The Senior Advanced Software Engineer role at Honeywell Aerospace emphasizes Atlassian tooling and DevOps/DevSecOps to enable secure, automated CI/CD pipelines and scalable software solutions across the software development lifecycle. This hybrid position is based in Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software systems.
• Lead the setup, configuration, and ongoing administration of Atlassian products—Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo—to support Agile and DevOps practices.
• Design and operate end-to-end CI/CD pipelines that integrate source control, build, test, security scanning, and artifact management tooling.
• Oversee Artifactory based artifact repositories, including structure, access controls, and lifecycle management.
• Integrate and administer code quality and security tooling such as SonarQube, Black Duck Hub, and Coverity to enable DevSecOps.
• Automate workflows, reporting, and dashboards across DevOps and DevSecOps tools to enhance developer productivity and compliance.
• Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to embed security and quality checks early in the software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot CI/CD, build, and deployment issues across multiple environments.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and establish best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, and tool usage.
• Stay current with evolving DevOps, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted development technologies and propose improvements.
• Travel up to 10 percent.
