Overview
Location: Middleburg Heights, OH 44130. This role is open to candidates within a 2 to 3 hour radius of Cleveland, OH, including Toledo, Dayton, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas. Travel up to 25 percent for on-site visits is anticipated. Remote candidates must be on-site at BG Headquarters in Middleburg Heights, OH, at least once per week.

About the role
The Senior Electrical Engineer leads the electrical design and engineering for complex commercial and institutional building projects. This role is central to creating high-quality electrical system designs that promote energy efficiency, sustainability, and long-term building performance. It is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in MEP building systems who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solid facility solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead the electrical design, engineering, and specifications for assigned projects from concept through completion.
- Develop accurate schematic design solutions for complex prospective projects within expedited timeframes.
- Organize and manage the engineering effort required to move projects through all design and construction phases.
- Direct and oversee designers and engineers assigned to project teams.
- Review and adjust calculations, drawings, and specifications as needed to ensure project success.
- Collaborate with project teams to meet schedule milestones and maintain project budgets.
- Perform site surveys, field investigations, and equipment assessments.
- Coordinate engineering support during construction and assist with project execution as needed.
- Maintain awareness of project scope, engineering budgets, and construction budgets.
- Communicate scope, budget, or schedule changes to leadership in a timely manner.
- Assist in developing and maintaining drafting, design, and engineering standards.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
