Overview

Northrop Grumman offers a technically focused leadership role in San Diego, CA, within an integrated development group that supports program execution, architecture and requirements development, and supplier deliveries. This onsite position includes up to 10 percent travel and comes with a competitive salary range of USD 142,200 to 213,400 per year. A doctoral level credential is positioned for this senior role, with multiple education and experience paths available to align with program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the program manager in maintaining technical, cost, and schedule baselines for development activities
  • Participate in weekly cost and schedule reviews with program management to verify alignment with baselines
  • Support Earned Value Management System processes to enable accurate EAC reporting
  • Identify and address risks and issues independently, escalating to the appropriate engineering teams and program leadership
  • Establish supplier relationships and manage non-disclosure agreements in line with Contracts and Global Supply Chain practices
  • Spot opportunities to improve schedules and work with engineering teams to implement improvements within approved program processes

Requirements

  • Education and experience options include:
    • PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of related engineering experience; OR
    • Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of related engineering experience; OR
    • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience
  • Experience as Cost Account Manager (CAM) or direct experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience managing the budget, cost, and schedule baseline for an engineering project or program
  • Experience in Communications, Payloads, and Network system integration
  • Active DoD Top Secret SCI clearance with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial SAP access via a Program Access Request (PAR) prior to employment, and to maintain subsequent SAP PARs as needed
