Senior Principal Structural Analysis Engineer
Job Description
Northrop Grumman is hiring a Senior Principal Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 4) in Melbourne, FL for an onsite role focused on structural analysis and design/trade study work for metallic and composite aircraft structure. This position supports an Integrated Product Team environment, covering static, dynamic, and DaDT analysis activities alongside load development and mentoring.
Role Summary
You will perform and lead structural analysis tasks for airframe structures, as well as relevant mechanical systems and equipment. Work includes analyzing loads, executing required structural methods, and helping ensure results align to program schedule and budget objectives.
Responsibilities
- Execute static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment using approved hand methods and automated procedures.
- Support engineering decisions to ensure designs meet program requirements while aiming for the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality outcomes consistent with schedule and budget.
- When needed, derive non-flight applied loads, create and extract internal loads, and distribute internal load information.
- Perform weight and stiffness optimization using tools such as FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter, and other applicable software applications.
- Collaborate in a team setting by prioritizing, adjusting tasks as needed, and managing multiple responsibilities while analyzing complex problems and developing solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline plus 8 years of related professional or military experience; OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline plus 6 years; OR Ph.D. in a STEM discipline plus 4 years.
- Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and any required program access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.
- Professional experience in aerospace structural analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Primary Level Salary Range: USD 122,800 - 184,200 per year.
