Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
PLEXSYS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Camas, Washington headquarters. The role centers on designing, building, and refining corporate software applications, guiding the design process, and delivering feature specifications in an in-office environment. The position offers a salary range of USD 117,900 to 148,600 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modify enterprise software applications to meet business needs.
- Create precise feature requirement specifications and accompanying design documents.
- Track development timelines, lead the design phase, and negotiate feature scopes with product development leads and product managers.
- Leverage experience and judgment to plan and achieve assigned development objectives.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Develop detailed software designs and implement or maintain code in line with duties.
- Perform a range of complex engineering tasks.
- Offer remote and on-site technical support to current and potential customers.
- Manage schedules, deadlines, and overall development goals.
- Fulfill additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; a Master's degree is desirable.
- Four or more years of professional object-oriented software design and implementation experience.
- Proven organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and adapt to changing needs.
- Strong critical thinking abilities and creative problem-solving.
- Willingness to travel periodically as business needs dictate.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance at the Secret level.

Desirable
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation concepts and practices
- Experience writing software using C++ and SCALA
- Experience writing software with Qt/QML
- Experience with voice and audio sampling, formats, streaming, and processing
- Knowledge of RF and radio transmission systems
- Experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies, including training AI models
- Ability to analyze, debug, and optimize a complex software project
- Experience working with modeling and simulation software products and concepts
- Military experience in a Command and Control or Intelligence Reconnaissance and Surveillance career field
- Ability to set up, configure and troubleshoot a local area network
- Familiarity using JIRA, Confluence, Visual Studio, and Perforce
- Familiarity with SISO and DMO Standards
- Experience in Database Management
