Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer contract role to support a client in Erie, PA for one year, focusing on high-complexity full-stack software development, performance work, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Create clean, efficient code to design, build, and maintain sophisticated software, tools, and applications.
• Plan, prioritize, and execute tasks across the software development life cycle.
• Automate repetitive tasks using appropriate tools and scripting.
• Review, debug, and improve code quality.
• Perform validation and verification testing, including unit and integration tests.
• Document development phases and monitor system health and performance.
• Ensure software remains updated and supported over time.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively across teams, vendors, and portfolios.
• Coach and mentor peers and junior engineers.
• May act as a technical lead on medium complexity or risk projects or on production support teams.
• May participate in proof of concept work under the direction of a Technology Architect or Principal Engineer.
• Help lead core teams to successful outcomes by applying broad technology and integration knowledge.
• Provide PEGT and CAB signoffs to the enterprise technology office through a streamlined process to ensure high-quality work delivery.
• Join the Performance Testing team with a focus on enterprise core integration within the IT landscape.
• Support initiatives such as Billing V3, Customer Service new applications, and the Data team, including AWS migrations and cross-platform application work.

Requirements

• Knowledge and exposure to LoadRunner Enterprise or a similar load testing tool.
• Experience validating application interactions and dependencies across areas within a single environment.
• Participation or process ownership in a quality review function (eg, PEGT, CAB).
• Ability to gather and define performance test requirements.
• Integrated requirements management practices; familiarity with Jira, Gitlab, and ServiceNow is a plus.
