Senior Software Engineer

Bitflip Engineering is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Longmont, Colorado team. The role centers on delivering new software for both embedded and server-side components, including device bring-up, driver development, and back-end integrations across RTOS and embedded Linux, using C and Go. Expect work that spans wireless protocols, cloud integration, and cross-platform applications for Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Craft clean, high-performance, and maintainable code in C and Go for embedded systems and servers
• Develop and support software including applications, database integrations, interfaces, and new features enabling end-to-end connectivity of embedded devices to back-end servers over wireless links (3G/4G/5G, 802.11, 802.15) and various radios and protocols
• Assist with testing and deployment of new products and features
• Participate in code reviews and schematic reviews
• Perform hardware and software device bring-up
• Create drivers for peripherals such as Bluetooth sensors, flash devices, accelerometers, and other components
• Develop applications for Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux platforms
• Debug and validate network data connections and data transfers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work effectively
• Proficiency in debugging hardware and drivers with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar test equipment
• Experience with bare-metal development, Real-Time Operating Systems, or Embedded Linux
• Familiarity with JTAG/SWD debuggers
• Understanding of networking and network protocols; able to debug open-ended problems using tools like Wireshark
• Comfort working across multiple operating systems
• Backend development experience with Go (Golang), Protobufs, and a solid grasp of microservice architectures
• Proficiency in C programming
• Experience with basic tooling such as Perl, Bash, Make, etc
• 1+ years of professional experience with C programming
• 1+ years of experience with embedded systems

Salary

Salary range: $100,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience.

Location: Longmont, CO 80501, onsite. This position requires on-site work in Longmont.
