Senior Software Engineer

Lynx Software Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support autonomy-focused embedded software development for autonomous flight systems. In this onsite role based in Fort Worth, TX or Palmdale, CA, you will develop, integrate, and test software that helps deliver reliable flight software capabilities, while coordinating technical progress with peers and client teams.

The position requires the ability to obtain a Secret DoD security clearance and includes 25% travel, supporting collaboration across engineering and program teams.

Role Overview

• Develop, integrate, and test embedded software products for autonomous flight systems.
• Apply a wide range of software engineering principles, theories, and concepts to solve engineering problems.
• Operate independently on some work while also contributing in a collaborative environment with software engineers and other program development and deployment teams.
• Communicate project status professionally and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of strong software development experience using C, C++, Java, Python, and Bash for embedded systems, automation, testing, and application development.
• Experience developing and configuring autonomous flight systems using ArduPilot and/or PX4.
• Experience with UAS/UAV or RC aircraft operations, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Git, including branching strategies, code reviews, and collaborative development.
• Understanding of robotics, autonomous systems, flight software, sensor integration, and embedded system design.
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows development environments.
• Ability to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers.
• Ability to obtain a Secret DoD security clearance.
• 25% travel.

Key Technologies

• Programming and platforms: C, C++, Java, Python, Bash; Linux and Windows development environments.
• Flight and communication: ArduPilot, PX4, MAVLink, MAVLink telemetry, command-and-control messaging, mission planning, ground control stations.
• Engineering workflows: Git; Atlassian tools including Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket.
• Deployment and automation: Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
• Autonomy and embedded hardware: Perception, computer vision, sensor fusion, microcontrollers, embedded hardware platforms; electrical schematics.

Location and Compensation

• Location: Fort Worth, TX or Palmdale, CA (onsite)
• Base salary: USD 120,000 - 164,000 per year
• Bonus eligibility: Included (USD 120,000 - 164,000 + Bonus Eligible)
