Software Engineer
Job Description
Software Engineer at 7-Eleven in Irving, TX onsite, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications while contributing to scalable, maintainable product features.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Java, Python, or JavaScript, with frameworks such as Spring Frameworks, React, or Node.js.
- Write, execute, and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, leveraging JUnit and PyTest.
- Engage in code reviews to uphold engineering practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of new features and products to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices, proactively recommending process and system improvements.
- Document technical specifications, system designs, and user guides to support ongoing development and knowledge sharing.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and peers to help ensure timely project delivery.
- Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate project status, and resolve technical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in software engineering roles such as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or Full Stack Developer.
- Experience must include 3 years in Java, MongoDB, Amazon Web Services (Cloud), NewRelic (Observability Platforms), Spring Framework, microservices architecture, Object-Oriented Programming, SQL, and containerization.
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience, a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the stated fields plus 1 year of experience in the above skill sets is acceptable.
