Software Engineer

Thomas & Reed, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to plan, design, develop, and validate UX-focused software systems and applications. This onsite role in Columbus, OH focuses on enhancing existing capabilities and delivering new solutions within cloud-based, internet-connected platforms.

• Plan, design, develop, and validate software systems and applications centered on user experience (UX) innovation.
• Deliver enhancements to existing products and create new solutions, with emphasis on cloud platforms and internet-connected tools.
• Build intuitive, high-performance UX applications that support strategic product differentiation and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Java, Python, and C++, with the ability to apply them across diverse development environments.
• Experience with both front-end and back-end development, including a solid understanding of full-stack architecture and integration.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum, with hands-on experience in iterative development and team collaboration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and service integration.
• Knowledge of database management systems, including both SQL and NoSQL technologies, for efficient data modeling and access.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary groups.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Hands-on GUI development experience using modern tools and frameworks, with a focus on usability and performance.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for secure design and implementation of software systems.
