Job Description

Work on research-grade software in a focused onsite environment

At TEXAS RESEARCH INSTITUTE AUSTIN INC, you will help develop and improve software tools that support the processing, analysis, and management of complex scientific and engineering data. This role centers on strengthening an internally developed engineering codebase, with an emphasis on usability, maintainability, and deployment for ongoing research projects. The position is based onsite at our Austin facility (remote work is not available), giving you direct collaboration opportunities with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with other software developers to enhance an existing internally developed engineering codebase primarily written in Python, C, and C++
  • Increase code usability, maintainability, and deployment across ongoing research efforts
  • Support the software needs of continuing research and engineering projects

Requirements

  • Proficiency in software development using C, C++, and Python
  • Experience developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs)
  • Ability to develop and support applications in both Windows and Linux environments
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance

Location
