Job Description
Google is seeking a Software Engineer focused on Android Developer Tools to enable engineers to build, test, debug, and release mobile apps and services. This role sits within the Tools and Infrastructure group, with an emphasis on API compatibility, clear documentation, and robust testing to support Android development workflows.
Responsibilities
- Bring experience in one or more of these areas: Bazel, Go, Gradle, Kotlin, Maven, Android Studio and the Android Framework.
- Collaborate with internal teams and JetBrains on features and bug fixes to improve developer tooling.
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt materials based on product updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues, debug and track resolutions by analyzing sources of issues and their impact on hardware, networks, and service operations and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in Kotlin or Go.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms in academic or industry settings.
- 1 year of experience with build systems technology such as Bazel.
