Software Engineer II-Team Lead (AWS, Typescript)

The Travelers Companies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II - Team Lead to guide a software engineering team in Hartford, CT, delivering end-to-end solutions on AWS using TypeScript, with a salary range of USD 120,400 to 198,700 per year.

Responsibilities

• Lead a software engineering squad, assigning work based on each member's skills, capacity, and development goals.
• Review peers' code for quality, performance, and adherence to established standards.
• Resolve complex technical challenges and remove blockers to progress.
• Provide technical mentorship, guide developers, and support career growth within the team.
• Assess, recommend, and standardize tools, frameworks, and technologies for team use.
• Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration tasks, including defining technical requirements, while contributing as an individual contributor toward team objectives.
• Analyze defects and high-complexity incidents and implement solutions, escalating when appropriate.
• Work independently on well-scoped and loosely scoped problems with minimal supervision.
• Seek opportunities to broaden technical knowledge and expand capabilities.
• Offer technical guidance to less experienced team members and facilitate their growth.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related STEM field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience.
