Structural Engineer
Job Description
Lead structural engineering efforts for large-scale civil projects in Houston, TX with strategic guidance and technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Handle building sizing and selection, alternative analysis, and related project deliverables.
- Support engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for facilities.
- Provide technical presentations of engineering and design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Plan, forecast, and track deliverable progress to meet project reporting and schedule needs.
- Identify scope changes and estimate their impact on effort and schedule.
- Work independently while collaborating with teams as needed across project execution.
- Prepare, review, and approve foundation, structural steel, building, and earthwork calculations.
- Develop and manage structural documentation including requisitions, studies, reports, BOMs, and designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in structural and civil engineering.
- Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in civil engineering principles and practices, with emphasis on the energy sector.
- Advanced proficiency in emerging civil engineering software and tools.
- Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability considerations.
- Advanced capability in geotechnical and structural engineering principles.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills (written and verbal).
- High level of personal integrity.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
