Structural Engineer

KBA Engineering Services LLC is seeking a Structural Engineer to support structural design and analysis work across residential, commercial, and coastal projects. This is a full-time, onsite role based in a coastal office near Manasquan, NJ.

Role Summary

The Structural Engineer role requires 5 years of hands-on structural design experience, including work across wood, steel, concrete, masonry, and pile or foundation systems. The position focuses on delivering accurate plan sets and calculations, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring structural compliance for projects subject to municipal and coastal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for residential additions, new custom homes, commercial buildings, and coastal structures.
• Develop complete, clear, and accurate structural engineering plan sets, calculations, and detail sheets.
• Review architectural plans and coordinate structural framing and foundation layouts with project teams.
• Conduct structural site inspections, condition assessments, and construction administration services.
• Research municipal code requirements, flood zone regulations, and building codes to support structural compliance.
• Maintain direct communication with clients, architects, builders, and municipal officials.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
• Experience: 5 years of structural design experience (required).
• EIT Certification: Required.
• Professional license: NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
• Technical skills: Proficiency with structural modeling and design software (StruCalc, RAM or similar) and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of coastal structural engineering principles, including ASCE 7 wind/flood loads and IBC/IRC codes.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, architects, contractors, and local planning or zoning boards.
• Work location: In person at the Manasquan, NJ office (required).

Compensation

Salary: USD 84,000 - 116,000 per year.

Compensation is described as commensurate with PE licensure and experience.
