Job Description

This onsite Technical Support Electrical Engineer role in Commerce, CA focuses on monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and LED lighting products via phone and email, with occasional on-site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical systems and products over the phone and by email
  • Perform work to industry standards while maintaining a professional appearance and conduct
  • Engage with customers in a courteous, professional manner
  • Manage daily emails and calls, prioritizing urgent requests with tight deadlines
  • Enter and track all pending customer issues in CALL.E
  • Complete troubleshooting, installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks promptly
  • Suggest product upgrades, dimming options, and improved literature
  • Respond to customer requests with a positive and timely attitude
  • Keep tools, parts, equipment, and supplies clean, organized, and safe
  • Adhere to policies and procedures including safety, customer service, and handling of hazardous or restricted materials
  • Maintain clear records of work assigned, issues addressed, and tasks completed
  • Perform light commercial and industrial electrical work

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of general electrical service experience (residential and/or commercial, retail) preferred
  • Engineering background preferred
  • Electrical license and/or certification is required
  • Some field installation experience required
  • Computer skills to monitor, navigate, and operate equipment operating systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic, electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings
  • Capability to complete project installation based on engineered designs
  • Solid knowledge of electrical systems and components
  • Ability to lift up to 51 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Comfort working in tight spaces such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, and mechanical rooms
  • Ability to work at heights when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Activities of the Position

  • Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and walking to move heavy product within the assembly area
  • Occasional twisting, turning, stooping, pushing, pulling, squatting, and reaching above the shoulder
  • Warehouse temperatures vary with weather conditions

Full-Time/Regular upon completion of a 180-day trial period
