Job Description

AREHNA Engineering invites a Construction Materials Testing Engineer (P.E.) to join our Sunrise, FL on-site team. This role leads materials testing, inspection, and analysis for construction projects, backed by a collaborative, growth-minded culture. Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and technical specifications to ensure materials and workmanship meet contractual requirements.
  • Prepare proposals and project estimates.
  • Project management and coordination of field and laboratory testing.
  • Perform site visits and field inspections when required.
  • Conduct comprehensive laboratory testing of construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soils, and other building components to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with contractors, project managers, field technicians, and laboratory personnel to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
  • Quality review of daily field and laboratory reports.
  • Finalize and submit reports according to client deadlines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, ideally with a focus on materials testing / geotechnical engineering.
  • BS in Civil/Geotechnical/Construction Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • Prior laboratory experience performing materials testing procedures for concrete, soils, and related construction materials.
  • Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques.
  • Hands-on knowledge of construction processes including site inspections, concrete forming, and general construction practices.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Civil engineering experience: 6 years (Required).
