Responsibilities
- Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support the organization’s analytical needs.
- Conduct complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights, identifying issues and changes with the data and communicating solutions to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide tailored analytics solutions.
- Implement and enforce data quality and governance standards to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and security.
- Design and implement robust data models that facilitate data accessibility and efficient querying for analysis and reporting.
- Utilize Python, Snowflake, and SQL queries to build robust data solutions and for profiling data.
- Stay informed of industry trends, tools, and best practices in data analytics and engineering, and apply this knowledge to enhance the team’s capabilities.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data analytics engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python; familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and AWS. Experience with dbt or Databricks is a plus.
- Demonstrate 5+ years of experience in data analysis, product/business analytics, or data engineering.
- Possess proven experience managing analytics or data projects and coordinating cross-functional workstreams, with demonstrated ability to deliver on time and communicate progress to varied audiences.
- Have practical experience collaborating in Agile teams and applying Agile best practices (sprint planning, refinement, retrospective).
- Be experienced with data quality practices, monitoring, and validation approaches to ensure reliable inputs for analytics and decision-making.
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Modeling Data Solutions seeks experienced data analytics engineers to join its personal lines auto teams. This opportunity resides within Liberty Mutual's US Data Science Infrastructure department and supports the development of cutting edge pricing programs. You will design and develop the data solutions needed for research and development, as well as provide frontline data support in launching new products to market. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across disciplines.
This role may have in-office requirements depending upon candidate location.
Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- Master's in the same or related disciplines strongly preferred.
- 5-7+ years of experience coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including Python, SQL, ETL, Spark, Snowflake.
- 5-7+ years of experience as a developer with top quadrant Business Intelligence tools.
