Job Description
Nova-Source LLC offers a remote-friendly path for engineers specializing in power solutions. As an Applications Engineer focused on energy intelligence deployments, you will act as the technical authority for integrating, deploying, and validating power metering solutions. This role sits in a flexible work setup with remote or hybrid options from Ashburn, VA, and a competitive base salary range of USD 110,000 to 150,000 per year. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team to translate customer challenges such as uptime risk and energy inefficiency into technically differentiated power management solutions to win new business and expand existing accounts.
- Lead the design, validation, and documentation of power management solutions, including architectures, configurations, product specifications, and functional requirements.
- Act as the global liaison with application management teams to ensure alignment on global solutions, and provide field feedback to product development regarding practical product usage.
- Coordinate multiple projects and deadlines across internal departments while maintaining compliance with company and industry standards.
- Monitor technology trends and assess their applicability to the product suite; travel up to 25 percent to Global Headquarters or the main U.S. office when needed.
Requirements
- MS or BS in Electrical Engineering (or a related field); Professional Engineering license is preferred.
- Proven background in electrical or applications engineering, ideally in the power management sector, with hands-on experience designing, constructing, operating, and commissioning substations, AC/DC systems, and medium/low-voltage distribution.
- Strong understanding of data center environments and equipment, including switchgear, generators, transformers, ATS, controls, emergency power systems, and electrical protection.
- High proficiency in interpreting technical specifications and electrical single-line drawings, plus solid experience with data acquisition, energy management, power monitoring, and SCADA. Familiar with industry software tools and programming languages, specifically AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients, delivering customer-focused problem solving.
