Job Description
The role is focused on building and integrating core system capabilities across the platform and application domains that support smart home functionality, voice control, and an AI-driven experience.
Role Overview
As a C++ Software Engineer with Josh.ai in Denver, CO (onsite), you will contribute to core features spanning device and system layers, support partner integrations, and help resolve issues that emerge across the platform and application stack. You will also contribute to architecture decisions and identify process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and extend core features within the Josh system across platform and application domains.
- Write and maintain device drivers and contribute to integrations with partner products.
- Maintain regular communication in both written and verbal form to collaborate cross functionally with backend and frontend teams, UI/UX designers, and other stakeholders.
- Diagnose system troubleshooting needs and drive problem-solving across platform and application domains.
- Support architecture efforts and recommend process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree in computer science or a related field.
- 3 years of professional experience programming in C++.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated capability in communication, project management, and problem solving.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Go and/or Python.
- Experience with FreeRTOS or embedded systems.
- Interest and/or experience in the smart home automation movement.
- Comfort with frequent incremental code testing and deployment.
- Familiarity with an agile team environment and related processes, including tools such as Git and JIRA.
Compensation and Location
- Location: Denver, CO (onsite)
- Salary Range: USD 100,000 - 140,000 per yearly
