Responsibilities
- Design electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure all project requirements are incorporated into the design
- Develop electrical one-line diagrams, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and I/O schedules
- Interpret and develop P&IDs and control narratives
- Design PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial networking systems
- Review and seal engineering documents as required
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, equipment vendors, and contractors
- Perform field investigations, site visits, startup support, and troubleshooting when required
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to controls engineers, draftsmen, and panel building technicians
Requirements
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering in Tennessee and Georgia
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of electrical design experience in industrial or municipal environments
- Strong understanding of PLC control systems and industrial automation in various platforms
- Ability to interpret and develop P&IDs, control narratives, and process flow diagrams
- Experience designing industrial control panels and associated wiring systems
- Ability to review project specifications and identify technical, contractual, and code compliance requirements
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL, ISA, and industry standards
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and/or similar design software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
