Early Career Integrity Engineer

Enbridge is seeking an Early Career Integrity Engineer to help protect gas assets across its operations in Gastonia, North Carolina, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role centers on identifying, evaluating, and communicating risks to asset integrity, operational reliability, and health, safety, and environment, supporting risk-informed decisions through fit-for-purpose assessments and translating technical insights into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk assessments that inform risk-based decision making.
• Apply fit-for-purpose methods to identify and evaluate operational risks.
• Identify and assess risks spanning health and safety, operations, environment, reputation, and financial impact.
• Support collaborators with problem definition, data collection, application of assessment techniques, and clear communication of results.
• Collaborate with senior team members to continuously improve assessment tools.
• Develop new techniques through literature research, feasibility studies, and building business cases for improvement ideas.
• Present technical results to department leadership and teams through presentations and written reports.
• Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Contribute to value assessments for major investments via risk and benefit analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; preference for mechanical, civil, chemical, materials, petroleum, or related fields.
• 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Highly numerate, logical, and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and compile technical reports.

Physical Requirements

• Grasping, kneeling, and light to moderate lifting up to 20 pounds.

Working Conditions

• Office environment with limited travel, approximately 90% in-office and 10% travel.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the state are required and will be verified prior to hire.
