Job Description

Field Electrical Engineer role in Rockdale, TX, focusing on on-site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across industrial, manufacturing, and data center environments.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for on-site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including control panels, automation equipment, and communication networks.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and system layouts using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses on electrical failures or malfunctions to rapidly identify issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Test and validate PCB designs, FPGA configurations, SoC integrations, and firmware updates to ensure system integrity.
  • Apply NEC electrical codes and NFPA 70 safety standards during design, installation, and maintenance activities.
  • Leverage MATLAB/Simulink for system development verification and control system modeling.
  • Support manufacturing by designing SMT electronics, performing precise soldering, and ensuring quality conformance.
  • Utilize Python or Perl for automation tasks, data analysis, or debugging complex systems.
  • Coordinate electrical installations within mechanical assemblies through mechanical integration work using Revit or SolidWorks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering with hands-on electrical system design and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics design principles, including PCB layout, schematic capture, and circuit design using CAD tools.
  • Familiarity with FPGA programming (SystemVerilog), embedded firmware development (C++, ARM microcontrollers), and PLCs.
  • Experience with signal processing techniques, vision inspection systems, and automation control systems.
  • Ability to debug with instruments such as ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers; proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink is desirable.
  • Mechanical understanding of SMT, soldering techniques, and mechanical integration using Revit or MicroStation is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of NEC electrical codes, NFPA 70 safety standards, and industrial automation protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with efficient root-cause analysis under pressure.
  • Effective project scheduling abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks in fast-paced settings.
  • Proficiency in Python or Perl for automation workflows or data analysis is preferred.
