Field Engineer – Dual Fuel Engine Calibration

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to influence decarbonization and energy solutions for mining and energy sectors while collaborating with MES Engine Development teams across Australia and the USA. You will lead field deployments of dual fuel diesel engine solutions and contribute to a global, engineering-centric culture that values clear communication, accountability, and continuous learning.

You will deploy dual fuel configurations for diesel engines across North America, with expansion into South America, and you will serve as a technical bridge between distributed teams and customers. The position emphasizes leadership within the Engine Development Team, coaching junior members, and providing direction to ensure successful field implementations. Regular travel to customer sites in North America is expected, with occasional international travel to Australia, Europe, and South America.

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment of dual fuel solutions for diesel engines in North America (USA and Canada) and contribute to expansion into South America (Argentina, Peru).
  • Act as a conduit between the MES Engine Development Team in Australia, the USA team, distributors, and customers regarding field deployments.
  • Provide technical leadership within the Engine Development Team and coach junior engineers.
  • Travel to customer worksites in North America on a regular basis.
  • Occasional international travel to Australia, Europe, and South America may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical).
  • 5–10 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with J1939 CAN bus protocols and control systems, including programming, diagnosis and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of engine software, calibration and programming (for example Motec).
  • Experience with engine calibration.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish language skills are preferred.
