Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical analysis for the design of tailings facilities, water storage facilities, tailings dams, and other mining infrastructure
• Carry out advanced numerical modeling of tailings dams, including deformation analyses using geotechnical modeling software
• Develop MPM code to model and interpolate material runout behavior
• Conduct geotechnical evaluations such as material characterization, seepage analysis, and slope stability assessments using geotechnical software
• Assist with developing drawings, specifications, and calculation packages
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations of evaluation results for project teams and Review Boards
• Domestic travel up to 10% of the time
• Telecommuting is permitted up to three days per week

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, Civil Engineer, or related role
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with no professional experience required
• Soil mechanics knowledge
