Hotel Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
Onsite Hotel Maintenance Engineer role in Lufkin, TX supporting day-to-day engineering operations and guest-ready facilities at a Major Franchise branded hotel.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine and preventative maintenance across hotel rooms and public areas.
- Handle maintenance calls promptly from guests and other departments.
- Respond to guest requests in a courteous and timely manner, resolving issues to the guest’s satisfaction.
- Prioritize maintenance work, including attending to breakdowns of plant and machinery on priority.
- Perform maintenance in guest rooms and public areas, including minor electrical equipment, plumbing, and air conditioning tasks.
- Coordinate with different departments by sharing information and providing operational assistance.
- Check, assign, and track new maintenance requests; inspect completed work and release rooms back to service using hotel PMS or other software.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms and common areas to keep equipment operating to required standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and working areas so they remain in good condition.
- Support staff development by training and instructing other team members through shared knowledge and skills.
- Maintain the facility exterior through general upkeep to ensure it remains inviting and welcoming for guests.
- Maintain professionalism with coworkers and residents while working in and around the community.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to perform day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance across rooms and public areas.
- Ability to respond promptly to maintenance calls from guests and other departments.
- Ability to prioritize issues, including plant and machinery breakdowns.
- Experience performing maintenance activities such as minor electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning tasks (as part of hotel room and public area support).
- Comfort communicating with multiple departments and providing information and assistance.
- Ability to manage maintenance requests and release rooms back to service using hotel PMS or other software.
- Ability to maintain tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition.
- Ability to train and instruct other staff members by sharing knowledge and skills.
- Professional conduct while working in and around the community.
