Responsibilities
- Lead monthly leadership reviews to assess team progress, surface concerns, and recognize successes.
- Maintain regular communication with leadership to align on project and team needs.
- Coordinate frequently with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure alignment and progress.
- Participate in project specific design review and milestone meetings.
- Direct the project delivery team by delegating technical and design tasks and coaching participants.
- Steer QA and QC processes for projects and advise on improvements across the team.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control on reports, plans and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
- Assist in identifying project milestones and dependencies to support schedule success.
- Independently manage design team schedules, budgets, and staffing while coordinating with the Project Manager.
- Implement team specific project delivery processes such as work breakdown structures.
- Coordinate with outside disciplines to integrate multi-disciplinary inputs.
- Document, review, and implement lessons learned to enhance future projects.
- Assess technical team skills and help address weaknesses through targeted development plans.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to team members.
- Research and review the feasibility of industry developments and advancements.
- Represent McClure in public-speaking opportunities related to projects or innovations.
- Organize internal and external training opportunities for the team.
- Serve as an expert witness in litigation, providing expert testimony and technical analysis when needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and professionals on multi-disciplinary, client-focused projects.
- Participate in client meetings such as project kickoff, design review, construction progress, or other technical discussions as required.
- Proactively communicate complex issues and solutions to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with all clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Onsite work location in Council Bluffs, IA.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with all team members.
- Strong understanding of engineering systems, construction techniques, and industry standards.
- Ability to manage workload by prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Solid knowledge of professional liability, quality procedures, and other engineering/technical skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from diverse groups.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
