Job Description
Lead the build of the Tech 360 Platform at M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY (onsite). This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development to deliver enterprise-grade reporting capabilities that help CIOs and technology leaders gain a single, trusted view of performance, risk, cost, delivery, talent, and business value across the organization.
The Tech 360 Platform is designed to improve transparency and strategic execution by consolidating fragmented reporting into a unified, data-driven experience. You will guide the design, development, and delivery of scalable solutions that support technology reporting and executive decision making.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade applications using one or more programming languages.
- Build and maintain REST APIs, responsive web applications, ETL solutions, and scalable database systems aligned to business and technology objectives.
- Write organized, clean, efficient, secure, and maintainable source code at an advanced level, applying appropriate data structures and algorithms to solve business problems.
- Lead implementation of cloud-native solutions using Kubernetes, containers, and microservices architecture.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing and deployment.
- Define and implement API and integration strategies across enterprise platforms.
- Partner with architects and security teams to implement authorization and policy-driven access controls.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence, resiliency, and operational best practices.
- Contribute to Agile and/or SAFe delivery teams, including planning, estimation, execution, and continuous improvement activities.
- Follow company risk and regulatory standards, identify risk-related issues requiring escalation, and maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulator-raised issues as applicable.
- Support a culture of belonging consistent with the M&T Bank brand.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and minimum 7 years systems analysis and/or application development work experience, or Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years systems analysis and/or application development work experience. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years education and/or relevant work experience including a minimum of 5 years systems analysis and/or application development work experience.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Angular and/or modern front-end development experience.
- Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native development experience.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Expert proficiency in at least 1 relevant programming language and professional proficiency in at least 1 additional relevant programming language.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, application architecture, and SDLC methodologies.

Location and compensation
Buffalo, New York, United States of America (onsite). Salary range: USD 116,400 - 194,000 per year.
Preferred experience
- Ability to build executive-facing reporting, analytics, or dashboard solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights.
- Experience integrating data from multiple sources, including APIs, databases, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
- Expertise in data visualization and reporting technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, Chart.js, D3.js, or equivalent tools.
- Experience designing scalable application architectures focused on performance, security, maintainability, and reliability.
- Proficiency with SQL and data modeling concepts including dimensional models, KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate with executives, product owners, business stakeholders, and data teams to translate objectives into technical solutions.
- Experience building centralized reporting platforms, operational intelligence systems, or executive decision-support applications is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership mentoring engineers, driving technical strategy, and establishing engineering standards for large-scale initiatives.
