Mechanical Engineer - Senior

Engtal is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support water and wastewater infrastructure in a hybrid work setup from Phoenix, AZ 85034. This role offers the opportunity to lead HVAC and odor-control scope on small to mid-sized projects while staying deeply involved in engineering design deliverables and construction support. Compensation for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 per year, and the candidate should bring 6+ years of relevant mechanical systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HVAC and odor-control scope across small to mid-sized projects
• Stay hands-on with engineering calculations
• Stay hands-on with plans for project deliverables
• Stay hands-on with specifications
• Stay hands-on with control schematics
• Provide construction support to help translate design intent into field execution

Requirements

• Mechanical PE registration strongly preferred
• 6+ years designing mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities
• Experience specifically within water or wastewater treatment facilities
• Experience with HVAC and odor-control system design
• Knowledge of NFPA 820 and hazardous/classified areas
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and develop control strategies
• Revit or AutoCAD experience
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and manage scope, schedule, and budget
