Principal Cyber Software Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Cyber Software Engineer to support cyber mission needs from an onsite location in Jessup, MD. In this role, you will design and build specialized cyber software tools and connect end-to-end data flow and tasking into those tools as part of an established software development process.

The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance (or the ability to obtain another polygraph), along with programming experience in Python or C/C++. Travel of about 10% of the time is expected, and the estimated application period is 20 days from the posting date.

Role Summary

• Principal Cyber Software Engineer (Level 0 CNO Analyst/Programmer)
• Design and develop specialized cyber software tools and implement end-to-end data flow/tasking into those tools
• Develop Windows and UNIX applications and support embedded or mobile platform development depending on tool requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide custom software design and development for specialized tools and techniques
• Design and develop end-to-end data flow and tasking into the developed tools
• Provide and author documentation
• Participate in design, code, and software readiness reviews in accordance with Government software development procedures and processes
• Develop applications using appropriate build environments, including:
• Windows applications using Visual Studio or .NET
• UNIX applications using make files or comparable build environments
• Embedded or mobile platform development using proprietary, GOTS, or open-source build environments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or network engineering with 2 years of experience; Master’s degree with 0 years; PhD with 0 years
• Current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance, or willingness and ability to obtain another polygraph
• Experience programming in Python or C/C++
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging systems
• Programming experience with Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, or Python
• Relevant bachelor’s degree discipline (e.g., computer science, information systems, network engineering)
