Job Description

The Product Engineer role focuses on transitioning advanced cold spray manufacturing technologies into U.S. production, supporting design activities, manufacturability and reliability principles, qualification builds, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and updating product designs for cold spray manufacturing components and assemblies.
  • Apply mechanical and electrical design engineering principles to deliver robust, integrated product designs.
  • Conduct DFM, DFA, and DRM analyses to optimize designs for U.S. production.
  • Support engineering change management and documentation updates.
  • Participate in qualification builds and ensure adherence to performance and reliability standards.
  • Collaborate with quality and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues during prototype and production phases.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to enable local sourcing and factory ramp-up.
  • Support regulatory compliance efforts, including ITAR, EAR, Buy American Act, and DoD requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and design optimization.
  • Contribute to product lifecycle management and sustainment activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
  • Strong background in mechanical and electrical design engineering principles.
  • Experience applying DFM, DFA, and DRM methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems and CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA).
  • Knowledge of electrical design tools (Altium Designer, AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Ability to plan and manage projects, tasks, resources, and budgets.
  • Experience operating within an ERP system.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Security Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship without dual citizenship is required; E-Verify is used for I-9 verification.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance for DoD programs.
