Production Project Engineer
Job Description
Based in Bastrop, Texas, SpaceX seeks a Production Project Engineer to lead the planning and execution of heavy civil and utility infrastructure projects at the Starlink production facility. The role coordinates cross-disciplinary engineering teams and collaborates with vendors and contractors to deliver manufacturing-ready facilities that support high-rate production. It requires aligning design, procurement, and construction activities to enable reliable, scalable operations on site.
Responsibilities
- Lead a project team of engineers, consultants, and contractors through the engineering, procurement, and construction process
- Oversee the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for manufacturing line initiatives
- Draft, negotiate, and administer construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines from conceptual design to closeout and activation
- Ensure accurate budgeting and cost forecasting
- Collaborate to develop production strategies that mitigate future production risks and seize opportunities to improve quality, throughput, safety, and cost
- Define and implement new business processes and systems for high-volume production, including manufacturing execution, inventory control, nonconformance resolution, configuration management, material traceability, process control, and maintenance
- Coordinate and schedule work with internal SpaceX teams and external general/sub-contractors
- Support production and engineering leadership in identifying trends, opportunities, and best practices to optimize output, quality, and manufacturability costs by spending time on the production floor
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline
- 1+ years of experience in production engineering, manufacturing, or industrial project management

- This role is based in Bastrop, TX and will require you to be onsite. Remote or Hybrid work will not be considered
