Job Description

Davis & Associates, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer to support the project management team and field operations on site in Indianapolis. The role involves processing shop drawings, managing document controls and change management, coordinating outsourcing and scheduling, and aligning project procedures to maintain a smooth workflow.

Compensation

Salary: USD 68,911 - 73,082 per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess design and bid documents, analyze contractor bids, and monitor construction progress and the project schedule.
  • Provide technical support to on-site construction staff under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Develop and maintain a system to review, monitor, and distribute shop drawings and submittals required for the project.
  • Review and issue submittals to the appropriate recipients.
  • Keep the management team informed of project progress.
  • Evaluate work sequencing to coordinate the schedules of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Oversee the requisition process for review and submission of pay applications.
  • Manage Change Orders, Estimates, and Proposals for review and approval by responsible parties.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and field operations assigned to the project.
  • Perform other related project assignments as required.

Minimum Experience

Minimum experience: 5 years.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience in project management of development initiatives.
  • Strong planning, budgeting, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Windows Office and Microsoft software.
  • Experience with Prolog or similar software.
  • Knowledge of plans and specifications.
  • Understanding of scheduling, estimating, and cost software.
