Project Engineer
Job Description
The Project Engineer role based onsite in North Carolina provides technical guidance on Geopier design-build projects, conducts geotechnical analyses, and supports RAP designs while collaborating with Area Managers and engineers to assess feasibility and bid opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Area Managers, Region Engineers, and Geopier licensee teams to provide project-specific technical guidance and direction that supports feasibility assessments and bid efforts for Geopier design-build solutions.
- Work with Area Managers to perform engineering analyses and prepare design reviews.
- Prepare or review engineering calculations and establish engineering direction on projects with limited supervision.
- Support the Design Center review team by conducting slope stability and other geotechnical analyses to inform RAP designs.
- Assist in resolving construction challenges and design issues.
- Review and approve RAP and other system designs.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations at internal and external meetings and workshops.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a geotechnical or structural engineering field.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics and structural loading conditions.
- Experience reading and interpreting project documents and drawings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional demeanor in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and drive issues, tasks, and deliverables from concept to completion.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general internet use.
- Knowledge of computer systems and software including AutoCAD, Microsoft applications, and geotechnical software such as SLIDE, SLOPE-W, and Settle 3D.
- Education: BS in Civil Engineering.
