Project Engineer II
Job Description
CANUSA EPC seeks a hands-on Project Engineer II to lead design, field execution, and client interactions on upstream and midstream oil and gas projects, based onsite in Denver, Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Lead assigned portions of project design and engineering deliverables to meet scope and schedule.
- Create and review P&IDs, piping specifications, and mechanical system layouts.
- Size equipment such as pumps, compressors, and rotating machinery to meet process requirements.
- Evaluate vendor documents and verify alignment with project specifications.
- Contribute to piping design reviews and provide constructability input.
- Perform field site visits and site walk-downs across North America.
- Engage directly with clients and operations teams to manage expectations and issues.
- Coach junior engineers and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in project execution from design through startup and commissioning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of engineering experience, with oil and gas preferred.
- Minimum 2 years in upstream or midstream environments.
- Strong working knowledge of ASME B31 piping codes.
- Experience with P&IDs, piping design, and equipment sizing.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Navisworks.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- EIT certification and pursuing P.Eng or PE is preferred.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across North America.
