Job Description

MORSE Corp is building software products for DoD customers across AI and machine learning, simulation, situational awareness, and mission planning. This Python Software Engineer role supports the design, development, and delivery of high-quality applications, with the chance to work in a collaborative environment that emphasizes code quality through reviews and pair programming, and strong integration practices with cross-functional teams.

Work is based in Seattle, WA (onsite). Compensation for this position is USD 90,000 to 210,000 per year, and the role requires 5+ years of software development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and reliable software applications using Python
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and pair programming to support high-quality outcomes and knowledge sharing
  • Keep current with software engineering trends, tools, and technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software products with seamless integration and deployment
  • Contribute to new codebases with a focus on object-orientation, modularity, and maintainability

Requirements

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI)
  • Expertise in Python
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and version control systems (for example, Git)
  • Experience with Docker, Docker-compose, or Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and microservice architecture
  • Strong communication skills and self-motivation
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or significant professional experience)
  • 5+ years of software development experience
