Quality Control Engineer - Electrical
Job Description
BE&K Building Group offers a robust onsite QA and QC role for an Electrical engineer in North Charleston, SC. This opportunity provides a competitive annual salary of USD 105,000 to 135,000, a comprehensive benefits package, and a collaborative environment focused on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the project specific QA/QC plan, detailing scopes of work and procedures.
- Create and maintain engineering procedures covering document control, submissions management, RFIs, material samples, cost-change documentation, and change orders within budget guidelines.
- Coordinate and implement the QA/QC plan in alignment with the project safety plan.
- Maintain ethics and regulatory compliance at all times.
- Foster and sustain relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure a fully compliant project.
- Align quality control activities with the project execution plan and schedule.
- Improve strategies and tools to document, track, and verify compliance with contract documents.
- Execute the QA/QC plan in a way that engages project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
- Perform tests and inspections and coordinate third-party testing, then analyze and report results.
- Expand the QA/QC program as the project progresses by refining procedures.
- Oversee the development of Daily Construction Reports and punch lists.
- Direct removal and replacement of non conforming materials or workmanship, and document compliance after corrective actions before proceeding.
- Research and apply additional Quality Control and Lean practices to enhance project delivery.
- Oversee project close-out and quality reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
- Capacity to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally from the General Contractor side of the business.
