Job Description

Onsite in Meridian, Idaho, this role leads a small R&D team to create an industry-leading mobile robotic solution for material handling. You will oversee R&D and prototype development as well as full controls projects from concept to deployment, with cross-training in robotic programming and hands-on execution of ACAD layout, PLC/PC control programming, and HMI development.

Responsibilities

  • Track projects and communicate progress and issues to the Chief Innovations Officer, Engineering Manager, and Program Manager as required.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of career growth and a positive work environment.
  • Monitor the embedded systems team's progress and provide guidance to help meet year-end goals.
  • Deliver the full scope of embedded systems project services described in the overview.
  • Assist Robotic and Mechanical Engineering on project design efforts.
  • Execute controls projects with an emphasis on customer satisfaction, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.
  • Resolve engineering issues by collaborating with the engineering team, vendors, and shop personnel.
  • Ensure designs and implementations meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Work with management to prioritize projects at the macro level and manage individual tasks autonomously.
  • Contribute to developing and refining department process standards.
  • Attend training and obtain certification in applicable controls technologies or programs.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of controls experience on highly automated projects.
  • 1+ years of experience leading people in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor of Electrical or Computer Engineering with emphasis in Robotics and/or controls.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • PLC/PC control experience, panel design experience, hands-on and mechanical capabilities, and controls project management experience.
  • Experience with machine vision and material handling.
  • Aptitude for hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent computer literacy with MS Office products.
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Employees must follow information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.

Travel Requirements
