Senior Civil Engineer - Roadway Design

CSG Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead roadway design efforts for public works projects in a hybrid role based in Foster City, CA.

Responsibilities

• Build and oversee engineering teams to produce plans, specifications, and estimates for public works construction.
• Direct staff through complex roadway/public works engineering tasks, ensuring technical quality and compliance with governing regulations.
• Develop and track project budgets and schedules to support on-time delivery.
• Coordinate project execution across stakeholders including project team, field personnel, agency staff, utility companies, other consultants, and contractors.
• Stay current on Caltrans and/or AASHTO design and construction standards and specifications.
• Partner closely with clients and internal project teams during planning, design, and delivery.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• 6+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Ability to mentor mid-level design staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Current California Professional Engineer (PE) License required; specialty certifications are highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, and applicable laws and codes for public works projects, with a high degree of independent judgment.
• Experience applying methods, materials, and techniques used in the design and construction of public works projects.
• Demonstrated success on roadway projects such as pavement rehabilitation, complete streets, bicycle/pedestrian facilities, intersection, storm drainage, and stormwater quality measures.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or hydrologic, hydraulic, and stormwater management design software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Location and Additional Requirements

• Foster City, CA (hybrid)
• We only consider candidates living locally or within the State of CA; no relocation expenses are paid

• Some assignments may include driving as part of job responsibilities; employees must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Salary: USD 142,000 - 165,000 per year
