Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer role at Shipp Engineering Services focuses on engineering, planning, design, and implementation of electric distribution and sub-transmission systems for the plant. The position leads power delivery projects, manages schedules and budgets, and maintains strong client relationships. This onsite opportunity is based in Tyler, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and oversee power delivery initiatives across the plant.
- Design and implement electrical distribution systems for facilities and equipment.
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Lead project status meetings.
- Oversee project budgets.
- Contribute to proposal development.
- Take a lead role in managing client relationships.
- Evaluate, select, and procure cost-effective equipment.
- Prepare detailed designs for new substation layouts using electrical schematics.
- Generate bill of materials and equipment specifications.
- Perform bus sizing calculations.
- Assess power loading and DC loading requirements.
- Design lighting systems and determine cable sizing requirements.
- Apply knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer is a plus.
- At least 7 years of experience in Electrical Distribution Systems.
- Understanding of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.

Salary
Base salary: USD 110,000 per year. Note: Salary varies based on experience.
