Senior Electrical Engineer

JTEKT Bearings North America offers an on site Senior Electrical Engineer role in Greenville, SC, focused on designing, integrating, and supporting control systems for product testing. This position provides relocation assistance and the opportunity to contribute within a collaborative, safety minded test lab environment where electrical engineering, automation, instrumentation, and data acquisition come together to ensure test stands and automated rigs operate safely, accurately, and reliably.

Requirements

• Serves as a subject matter expert in software and controls engineering with awareness of industry trends and best practices
• Drives innovation in software and controls system design
• Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical automation, manufacturing and test equipment
• Design, develop and improve control systems including PLC, HMI, data collection and test systems
• Develop electrical and control specifications for test equipment
• Program PLCs, HMIs and related systems (Allen-Bradley, Keyence, Emerson, etc.)
• Experience with hardware, sensors and interfacing test instrumentation
• Experience with data acquisition, databases and network systems (Ignition, Red Lion, Keyence, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to communicate detailed results and provide training to other associates
• Self motivated with minimal supervision, attention to detail, tracking and documentation
• Strong strategic thinking, problem solving and communication skills
• Positive, team oriented, high integrity and strong work ethic

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• On site work in Greenville Test Lab with exposure to manufacturing and testing areas requiring personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection
• Ability to handle components up to 50 lbs
• Exposure to hot oils, slippery floors and varying noise levels; occasional fumes or odors when working with oils
• PPE required including safety glasses, steel toe shoes, ear plugs and adherence to all safety guidelines
• Majority of work performed on site in Greenville
